Zusammenfassung

Service learning is a complex, systematic and planned learning educational activity, whether content, competences, skills, values and attitudes, which imply a service to the community to which it is addressed. The educational purpose is on one hand solidarity and in the other hand pedagogical aspect. It works on real needs of the environment in order to improve it. It means learn from the activity, say it differently: from the commitment of the reality. This methodology has been applied in other educational levels successfully, so, our proposal is put into practice with older students that take part in the Senior program and thus provide the Senior programs with a greater social projection. The steps taken in their design and implementation planning, the coordination with different social entities and teaching materials arising from it will be described among others. The conclusions are that the service learning help to give meaning to learning due to service, bringing new life experiences to the students, benefit the meaningful of learning whether content, values, attitudes, etc., to learn from the framework of reciprocity and also promotes the integral development of the person.
