Zusammenfassung

In this work, a descriptive and comparative study is performed among the means on the 16PF-5 obtained in the normalization study of Conn and Rieke (1994) [Conn, S.R. & Rieke, M.L. (1994). The 16PF Fifth Edition Technical Manual. Champaign, IL: Institute for Personality and Ability Testing, Inc.], the Spanish normalization study of Russell y Karol (1995) [Russell, M.T. and Karol, D.L. (1995). 16PF-5. Manual. Madrid: TEA Ediciones, S.A.], according to data from the TEA Ediciones R+D team, and from 636 undergraduate students, relatives and friends with a range of 17 to 81 year old. It is hypothesized that if the samples from the Spanish normalization study are mostly from personnel selection, higher order factor means related to Anxiety will be lower, while they will be higher for factors related to Self-control and Extraversion, than those obtained in this study. Results point out that these predictions are true for men and in a lesser extent for women. The need for normalization samples for the 16PF-5 from anonymous and collaborative subjects is discussed, aiming at providing reference norms to be used in psychological professional reports.
