Laburpena

We live in very complex times and this complexity has a dramatic impact on the social and health sectors, which often come into contact with people’s private and personal space. Bioethics, which has its basis precisely in the management of complexity, can help orient the practice of the social professions at a time when the relationship with the client is increasingly predicated on empowering people to take decisions, accompanying them in their discovery of new personal resources, proposing alternatives and respecting the decisions they may take. Bioethics has already developed a conceptual framework within which to orient itself, and this is set out in the article in the context of the new challenges posed by biotechnological progress and social changes, in order to identify valid criteria in a post-traditional, post-Christian and post-modern world.
