Resumo
The aim of this article is the characterisation of the modifications on the lexical uses which have been detected in Catalan/Spanish bilinguals when speaking Spanish. The uses that we describe have been collected in an oral language corpus recorded in the city of Lleida following the methodology of the Proyecto para el Estudio Sociolingüístico del Español de España y América (PRESEEA), directed by professor F. Moreno Fernández. The analysis of the items in the corpus allows us to testify that language contact is a powerful lexical changer in such circumstances, generating loans, semantic transferences, changes in the level of use of the words and calques.
