Resum

In this work we use the commuting matrix to analyze the accessibility of the municipalities as places to reside and/or work, taking Aragon (Spain) as a case study. To that aim, a modified version of the Place Rank algorithm (El-Geneidy and Levinson, 2011) is proposed. This method uses origin-destination flows weighting these displacements by the attractiveness of the origin zone. Furthermore, the algorithm is adapted to estimate the accessibility of a municipality as a residence place. Finally, regression models are built to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of the Aragonese municipalities that are related to their labour accessibility and attractiveness to live in them.
