Abstract

. Introduction The objective of this work is the design and validation of a strategy for training research mediated by mobile learning (m-learning) in master's degree students. To this end, a case study was carried out with a design based-research. Interviews and direct observation were used to obtain the information, although the possibility of complementing the data using other techniques was left open. . Research content This work describes and analyzes how the strategy designed for the integration of m-learning supported the formative research process of eighteen students, who with the guidance of professor, were studying a master's degree in virtual mode at a public university in Colombia. Among the results is that the strategy contributes to enhance research skills and social and collaborative aspects in the group of students. Likewise, as a theoretical result of this research, design principles and a reference framework were obtained to develop a strategy oriented to formative research mediated by mobile devices. These theoretical results are an approximation for virtual research and for future research in this line. . Conclusion Finally, it is concluded that the adaptation or inclusion of mobile learning strategies in formative research enhances autonomous learning, andragogy in students who use them.
