Abstract
In the last decades, tourism has evolved from an offer focused on similar products for a set of tourists to more varied experiences. However, in spite of this process, the influence of the different historical ages in touristic products is still unequal. This article will analyse which are the most common ages in the touristic image of Catalonia. We made a comparative study of the age of the buildings more frequently shown in the promotional images of Tourism of Catalonia and the monuments declared in Catalonia. This research shows how the current touristic promotion tends to focus in Romanic and Modernists monuments.
