Resumen

Las personas con discapacidad intelectual presentan, en general, redes sociales reducidas, poco diversificadas y con escasas fuentes de apoyo naturales. Promover la construcción de redes sociales más potentes contribuye a su bienestar personal e inclusión social y a enriquecer la diversidad de la sociedad. Este artículo presenta el proceso llevado a cabo en el diseño y validación de un instrumento que tiene por objeto apoyar la construcción de redes sociales de jóvenes y adultos con discapacidad intelectual. La elaboración de este dispositivo se ha articulado en diversas fases que incluyen un exhaustivo análisis bibliográfico, varias rondas de discusión y revisión interna y la validación por parte de profesionales de servicios dirigidos a personas adultas con discapacidad intelectual, profesorado de centros educativos y personas con discapacidad intelectual. Este proceso de validación se ha llevado a cabo en el ámbito nacional e internacional y se concreta en el Marco de calidad para las buenas prácticas de apoyo a la construcción de redes sociales (MdC-RS). El artículo describe el proceso de validación desarrollado, la versión final y orientaciones para su aplicación.
