Resum

The present work analyses the legal protection of victims of forced marriage (FM) from a comparative perspective based on the requirements established by international regulations, especially the Istanbul Convention. In order to carry out this comparative law study, the research focuses on four of the countries that have ratified the aforementioned Convention: Germany, Spain, Finland, and Ireland. These countries can be considered representative of different geographical areas of Western Europe, covering the southern, central, and northern regions of Europe, without neglecting Europe faithful to the Common Law system. Its legal-penal, civil, and administrative analysis highlights the differences between the legislations of the mentioned countries. It is concluded that it is necessary to resort more to the implementation of legal-civil and immigration measures to prevent and protect prima facie the victims of FM. Having done this, it is suggested that specific typologies should be rethought to incriminate FM.
